When received, I will keep the nicer set for my personal collection and probably send the other set back. I don't see much value for this product other than owning one as a collectible (kind of a duhhhh....thing I know- I guess I should be collecting what I like.....). I don't need my dated economics degree to recognize that there clearly is too much supply and/or not enough demand for this set. It didn't sell out the first day (or even yet:( Anyone else keeping just one for their own enjoyment?

Instead of sending it back there would probably be a few here that would give you your purchase price plus shipping.
Yesterday's sales were from $83 to $120 for raw sets
Probably VERY little chance of them selling for less than the $60 cost

I guess I didn't check my facts first:( Thanks for filling me in. I am amazed that raw sets are selling for substantially more than the $57.95 issue price when they are still available from the mint (for that price)!

Where did you see a $120 sale? I saw a $125 or best offer that sold for best offer. But all closed sales, even for sealed sets was under $90. At least on ebay. And at $90, when you take into account fees and shipping, you are looking at a profit of maybe $15.

I am new to this forum about 6 months but I see lots of people wanting to always make a profit and seem to be abandoning plain old collecting for pleasure.I have one on back order didn't ever consider selling,I just want one for my collection.I have 2 of 50th anniversary Kennedy 4 coin set also for just my collection, may sell one in the future but I am a Kennedy collecter plus the coins were nice!!

I think the logic is that some people don't have much money to spend on coins, so flipping things provides more funds to buy what they want.

Quote: Probably VERY little chance of them selling for less than the $60 cost Saw a few go for $77. With fees and shipping, that's extremely close. After the initial demand passes, I could see these dipping even lower.

Quote: After the initial demand passes, I could see these dipping even lower. Maybe..but they are still available from the source at $58.95 Why would anyone who does not have a set pay even $77? So, contrarian to the above quote one could say that once they are no longer available for $58.95 then the price might go up.... I think 90-100 bucks is a good eventual price target....but I do agree that the price will most likely drop in the near future. Remember those who did order from the source will soon have them in hand and want to sell some...THAT will affect prices more than the minimal number pre-sales.

After fees, I guess that is about 300 profit. Not really that much when you consider the effort it took to get 11 different orders together.

Latest FedEx status is that it departed Dallas shortly after midnight this morning. Perhaps I'll get these before Thursday after all.
