Don't have any doubt about it guys. This is gonna be just like ike and truman. There will be no waiting no meandering no I'll wait till lunch and get one at 12:30! The ONLY question is will it be as smooth as truman or as botched as ike. As to resale, they will always be worth more than issue price. I'm guessing it will spike at $250 +/- and settle at $170+/-. If you flip get em, if you want a few for yourself at issue price get em, if you're jbuck one will do :)
My predictions fwiw

The 2014 Coin and Currency set also has the same 50k mintage. It's going for $40 right now. The 2014 enhanced uncirculated Sacagawea is just as important of a coin in the Sacagawea series as these are in the Presidential series. Few people collect metals, so 50k of a metal means that it's not going to be worth much more than melt. My guess right now is that they'll end up in the $55 to $60 range a few years from now. I'm ordering two and that's it.

I agree with Cascade on the day one action. Where the market ends up, you may be right, Bret.

I think these will sell out quickly. I am guessing 20-35 minutes.
However I think the secondary market will tank quicker than Ike tanked. I don't see these selling over 100 for more than a few days.
Be interesting to see if my guess is on the mark or completely wrong

Well if presale are going for $150 right now, just to be safe may just try selling em for around $120-130 to get em out quick and people will see that as a pretty good deal before the prices dip lower. On another note, I am sad that this medal just has words on the back not as cool as the first two from this year.

Quote: You'd think that people would at least give the mint's website a try before throwing down $150 for a set with three times the mintage as the others. I have always wondered the same. Do these people not understand the process? Coming up on 48 hours.

Cascade, also keep in mind when flipping these on ebay there are a lot of fees imposed by ebay and Paypal so actual profit will not be as great as the auction ending price.

I'm not flippin em. I'm more of a bear with these. Why not keep them and see what they do in a few years is my mentality. That said I'm probably gonna stick with only 2 on these aND 2 of lbj. I'm kinda getting sick of it all. But with my family connection to Regan I'll be fighting mcm and hsn for market share regardless of mintage

Quote:How in the world does one person on ebay have 40 of these to sell in a presale? http://www.ebay.com/itm/22187296377335 sold with 5 more left for sale? The arguments to try and order through the mint, before buying off an ebay seller, like the one quoted above, make even more sense when you consider the US Mint sales page does not contain abrasive language such as: "WHEN THE TRACKING NUMBER IS ENTERED INTO THE TRANSACTION, THAT IS THE VERY DAY IT IS SHIPPING. IF YOU HAVE NO TRACKING NUMBER IN THE TRANSACTION FROM ME, IT HAS NOT SHIPPED YET. PLEASE DON'T MESSAGE ME ASKING FOR AN UPDATE. IF YOU NEED YOUR HAND HELD, BUY FROM A HAND HOLDER AS I AM NOT A HAND HOLDER. I SELL GUARANTEES, NOT PATS ON THE BACK." I'd rather not have the set if I had to purchase it from an intimidating ebay seller who demonstrates up front that he plans to be difficult if any questions arise during the transaction.

The ONLY reason I'd get more that two is to increase my chances of getting a good one. I agree with the $125 resale price. Quantity has lots to d with it. Look at the 2014 and 2015 coin & currency. The 2014 sets spiked way up and have finally settled at $40. The 2015 sets barely get $25.
BTW, I think the Ike sets are going to have a bit of a recovery and start selling at closer to $200.

I might buy a couple of sets to flip, something I haven't done since the Lincoln package. Funds would contribute to rebuilding my collection.

Most people probably dont even read all of the description.
But I agree that it makes the seller come off like a jerk.
