I don't think it's a die crack. It looks like it might have been damaged or possibly struck through. Waiting for more opinions -- and hoping it's struck through which is better than a die crack.

In my opinion the whole coin looks funky. Looks to have been treated, plated , tampered with some how. I know these coins are prone to corrosion but something looks of about this coin. I don't think it's spray painted but that's what it looks as if . Idk

no, I pulled from OBW roll with my own fingers. I have the rest of the roll on the bay right now, none of the other coins exhibited anything close to this. although I found one that had a million bubbles all over the surface like it was frozen while boiling or something.

A die crack would be raised from the surface. This is incuse, so it has to be damage of some kind. If you took it from an original roll that no one else has tampered with, it must have happened at the mint after striking. If you got the roll from ebay, chances are it isn't an original roll. Sellers have a way of re-rolling the coins to look original. EDIT: I suppose there exists the possibility that it is struck though something. What does the reverse look like?

It looks like a scratch. PSD. I would like to see a closeup of the date without the glare.

I have no opinion on the mark, but I will comment on the bubbled appearance. I work with zinc and zinc galvanized steel almost daily. Zinc is a nasty metal to work with, but essential to stop steel from rusting. In 1943, the mint had few choices. Both copper and nickel were vital war materials, and zinc was the most inexpensive, available, and time tested solution to coat the steel. It was the logical, but unfortunate, choice. Two problems existed with the zinc plating on the 1943 cents. First, zinc requires clean surfaces to adhere properly. That was not always accomplished for the 1943 cents, because the need was for high production numbers in short time and at low cost. Nobody thought the steel cents would be in circulation after the war ended, but they certainly were still circulating in quantity in the early 1960s. Second, in that era, zinc plating involved acidic zinc application. It is still used for many (likely still most) applications, because it is cheap and quick. The problem is that it deposits uneven thickness of the zinc on the steel. (Alkali zinc plating used widely today is slower and more expensive, but far more consistent, where quality matters.) Again, the need in 1943 was for speed and efficiency. I strongly suspect that your coin blank was not properly cleaned before being plated, and also received a thin plating. That was common, and could explain the bubbles. I fully agree with the upthread comments on ebay and supposedly OBW rolls. OBW rolls were not commonly saved before 1958, when many people snagged rolls of the last of the Wheat Cents. I suspect that ebay sellers have sold many more "OBW" rolls than were ever saved from the earlier years. That's one of many reasons why I avoid the ebay scene.
