Just to wrap things up, a little bird told me Jesse's no longer with the paper. I don't know any details though. So, don't bother using the email he provided.

Since I missed Coin Expo, I imagine I'll have a short chat with Mike Walsh at Nuphilex. You know, I do think that his paper can fill a niche within Canada, and I want to support a Canadian Numismatic publication, but it needs to be restructured to fit the current times. The paper is basically using the same format as the pre-internet era, which really does not work anymore. I liked Jesse's enthusiasm, and go-and-get-it approach, but I think he underestimated his papers clientele, and those in the hobby in general. I really like how the RCNA and CN Journal has evolved... and will continue to contribute to it.

I have seen these publications, but never bought one - To date, I haven't seen any value in them.
I know all too well how forums can be a great place to make yourself look like an arse for a couple attempts at jokes and/or sarcasim that don't get read quite the way the writer was intending them to taken.
Now if we could just get a book that is a hybrid of the charelton(?sp) and other guide for Canadian coins - we would be set. I like the other book because it's more comprehensive, but it lacks common variants, and trades crappier paper and poor quality (sometimes terrible) colour prints for the charelton's heavier paper stock & b&W higher resolution images.
That is all I have to say :D

Not to resurrect an old thread for no reason, for what it is worth, Jesse introduced himself to me last year at the ONA in Kingston, and apologized for "getting off on the wrong foot". I actually had trouble remembering this thread at the time, but I told him that life is too short to hold grudges, and that I had even renewed my subscription to CCN. Not because I actually get much out of it anymore (especially since I don't do coin shows as a dealer anymore), but because ultimately, I want to support the hobby in Canada.

Good of 'Jesse' to apologise to you.
His posts in this thread were definitely full of 'attitude'.

I always liked getting my issues of CCN. I live in the USA, the coin club that I did belong to had no one interested in Canadian numismatic items. CCN gave me a connection. But I did find that the trends prices never changed - in fact I compared a copy from 2009 to 2019 and they looked very similar. I allowed my subscription to run out before I moved to another state. Shortly after moving here I joined the local coin club. They are interested in what I collect and I believe I have created new interest in Canadian coins/banknotes. If one thing it has done is create an new outlet for selling my collection then just on ebay. I think that an issue could concentrate on 2 denominations at a time rather than having the entire run.
