It's the stupid field chatter that did it in. On pl morgans the eye goes to the fields first as well as the cheek so the fields are just as important to the grade assessment, if not more so.

I was just going to post this. With PL and DMPL coins, the fields need to be very clean to start making their way into upper grades.

Looks like a solid 63, great coin.

Finally got it today, bad seller sent via fedex without my permission causing a 4 day delay (fedex is terrible.)

Took a couple quick snap shots at work. Really does have super deep mirrors, at least as good as my other -63DMPL.

I'm sending it off to Todd soon, probably.

I think PCGS was a bit strict, the coin has eye appeal to burn and field marks on a DMPL Morgan are always more visible than on a normal frosty-luster coin. If graded on another day it might have gotten that MS-64DMPL.

Hey, maybe it's worth trying for CAC approval!

I'll be at ANA 2016 here in Dallas area in March so I might take it by CAC's tables and let them have at it. I took two days off work just to attend the show, so I'll have plenty of time to burn. (Not like I need an excuse to take a mini-vacation when I work 70 hour weeks.)

If Todd is going to be out there I may just wait until then to get the pictures done since I have a few other higher end coins that also need the great BluCC photo skills to really come alive.
