I found this after it fell out of my pocket and someone picked it up. Could this be real? It appears to be another metal and is not steel as it failed the magnet test. It is the same diameter as a penny despite this large rim. Have any of you heard anything about these?

Looks like a Dryer Coin, since the rims have been folded over inward.

to CCF. The rolled over rim is indicative to a Dryer Coin but I don't think all the copper plating would be gone. Maybe a Texas Cent that was put in a dryer on purpose?

What you guys are saying sounds right I had never heard of this commercial dryer thing until now. At first I thought it might have been dropped in acid until I realized it was rounding inward on both sides. I wonder if it was cleaned with a chemical at a commercial cleaner and then put through the dryer? That would explain removing the copper if they used some kind of acid cleaner.
Rest in Peace

Without knowing what the cent weighs it's hard to say whether or not the copper is missing. It may simply be discolored.

Anyway, you have an interesting little oddity there.

I can't remember but I think it should weigh 2.5 grams because it's a zincoln and 3.1 if it's copper. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong I'm really tired

Dryer Coin as already mentioned:

The rolling over of the rims is the clue.

The coins in a commercial dryer fall at a greater distance, than the ones in your home dryers would drop.
