First, I'm sorry for the lousy pics - I'm using my iPhone.
I found this roll hunting this afternoon. As you can see, the reverse side is the Lincoln Memorial and the obverse side is blank. The reverse detail makes it appear to be a copper cent, but the weight is 2.5 grams instead of 3.1 so it must be a zinc.

I've looked at the error definitions for Planchet, Plating and Blank but none of them really seem to fit, so I'm curious as to what type of error you think I've found.

Thanks

I figured as much given the copper appearance and the zinc weight. I'll toss it in my jar of old, crappy, coppers.

Thanks.

Could have been a practice piece for a machinist. Does the darkness on the memorial side look like it is heat related?

Something like this can not happen at the mint since the reverse is struck that means the obverse would have to be struck against something. And even capped dies show the devices somewhat. Also weight is a big indicator
