I am assuming this is some kind of bad cleaning or something but I saw this silver colored cent and thought I should post it for others to see also.

I also found a 1943 copper-colored cent but it stuck to a magnet so that is #3 for finding magnetic copper colored 1943's.

Probably environmental damage. Looks like it may have spent some time on the ground.

Thanks Buddy, I know it is hard to tell in the coin flip photos because of the lighting but it is the color of a dime.

Probably nickel or silver plated in a high school lab. chemistry experiment.

Then sel's got it. These show up often enough that it has to be an assignment or an experiment in a kid's chemistry set.
