$3-$3.50 each should sell quickly, melt value is approx $2.15 each unless silver has moved alot in past week.

Well the current spot price of silver is about $14.41. This makes one 40% kennedy about $2.13 and 197 of them about $419.84. These are minimum figures based on the price of silver right now. You also got to figure out the current market price of them on ebay (just check out sold items refinement on 40% Kennedy's) and also if you will charge shipping for them. Hope this info was helpful! Using the silver coin calculator in the link given above your coins are worth $420.00 today at spot. Assuming you're looking for a quick sale with as little hassle as possible, it seems to me that doing a BUY IT NOW with Best Offer you can easily and quickly get over $450.00 for the coins. You could get more as indicated above, but that would take a little research on your part, deciding what size batches to sell the coins in and over what period of time. For example, if you sold the coins in batches of $10.00 Face Value, you'll end up getting more for them, overall, but will also have increased your "hassle factor". [NOTE: I'm watching an auction on ebay right now for sixty (60) 40% silver Kennedy halves (spot melt value of $127.87) and they just sold for $144.79.] Finally, remember that ebay gets 10% (being the big hearted company that they are), so if you sell your coins, say, for $460.00, your net profit will be $460 - $46 = $414.00. Or maybe just do the above process with Craigs List.
I've never used Craigslist (not even sure how to spell it), so don't know if the fees etc are less. But I imagine you can put coins up for sale the same way: something like $490.00 or Best Offer and see what happens.
But anyway, once again, good luck. I'd be interested in hearing how it all turns out.

Thanks again everyone and they will be on ebay tomorrow. Let's see how well I do for my very first time selling coins lol. Rayof315, does that include the paypal fees also? |

I sell on ebay using PayPal. They charge 3% that applies not only to the final sale price of the item, but also to the shipping charges and any other charges (such as sales tax) they have paid you. So if you sell an item for $20 and charge $4 for shipping, your Paypal fee will be $1.02 (3% of $24 is $0.72 plus the automatic $0.30 that PayPal charges). In my opinion it's not that bad depending on what you're selling.  |

You must own ebay as everyone else has to pay 10% plus 3% in Paypal fees plus $1 per listing if it isn't a 7 day listing and then ad a few more cents for BIN or reserve option. Save yourself the hassle and sell on Craigslist at what the final sale prices recently on ebay is minus 10%. |

I see where the confusion is. If you scroll up djx asks about PayPal fees so that's what info I gave him. I know what the ebay fees are and also rayof315 covered that in the aforementioned post. 7 day listings aren't a bad thing when you consider what he is selling...Silver Kennedy half dollars. I just listed some coins on ebay and I paid no listing fee or insertion fee and I also did BIN. Craigslist could work as well, just depends on your personal preference. I feel like you can get to much unwanted spam using that tho...my opinion tho haha. |

Well guys I sold them on ebay for melt $420 and 9.00 shipping. I really needed the cash fast for college books etc. Not bad for only 98 dollars in face. |
