@BaMiddle, Sorry to hear they didn't have any for you at your bank. I called my bank to let her know I had a new cell phone number and she told me that she ordered me another $2000 in IKE's!! I wasn't expecting that since you struck out. Now Wednesday can't get here soon enough!!

Hopefully you'll get lucky again soon.

After I pick up these 2 bags that will bring the total to $5,000 in Ikes.

@MrClick - Yeah another week and struck out. I'm kinda surprised given I live in a very large metro area.

My banker said she'd try again next week. I did however discuss that next time my banker that next time she can get them to get as many as they have long as it dont exceed 10k. I have been sitting on the 2k I got the first time just so they didnt get cycled back to me. I wanted to see what the regular frequency for them is. Atleast she gives it a shot every week so cant beat that!

I normally don't post but can't help myself. I occasionally CRH when I'm on the road for work. Today, I was having a mediocre day CRH but I had this hunch to stop by this bank on my way home. It was on a major highway in an area that has been picked over for years by hunters and doesn't have much inflow from the public.

So, I went up to the teller area and asked for halves and Ikes, as I would usually do. The first teller said the expected, "No, sorry but we don't get many of those and we give them out as soon as we get them." But then a strange thing happened. The teller next to her said "I have some of those big dollar thingies." What she brought out was astonishing - something I haven't seen in my time doing this

That's right - 8 Morgans and 1 Peace dollar in a roll of Ikes. Unbelievable. And the Teller was counting them out in full view of everyone and no one even noticed!

It just shows you that it's still out there and when you least expect it.

Shut down the Thread! We have a Winner!. I've never had a score like that. You are a lucky Bee, Robby!

Just to let everyone know the reaction I would have had if that had happened to me.... As they finished the transaction and I had the coins in my hands I would have proceeded to as I yelled at the top of my lungs "Yahtzee" high fiving everyone in line! Yelling " I Love this Bank" at the top of my lungs....

I hope my 2 bags can top that score Robby Bee!! Savor and enjoy it

I had to use every bit of self control I had to restrain myself. Afterwards, I asked the teller if the person who brought them in had other change as well, and I would like to buy that as well. She said, "We gave all that away already." Why why why...I could have had a record setter if I got there when she had that material as well.

You lucky little... No, really, congratulations on an incredible score! At least some of us are still finding something. What are the dates on the silvers? Any other interesting pieces in that roll?

@Robby Bee - Astonishing!

I may have not found Morgans or Peace dollars but I did score 15 ounces of silver from my weekly halves this week!

I wish one of these was a 1893-S Mr. Click. That did happen to someone on one of the blogs, though - he got a 1893-S while on line at a Penny Arcade at TD Bank, from what I recall.

Congrats to Bamiddle for his score too.

For those interested, the dates on the dollars are:

1886 P
1890 O
1900 O
1901 O
1885 O
1880 O
1887 O
1880 P
1923 P

Nothing special from the rest.

Nice. Any Morgan or Peace dollar for face is a major score in my book! Are you going to keep them separated and labeled as "The Great Bank Heist of 2015". I would

Like it our not but you robbed that bank! Next time you go in that bank you may have a wanted poster up on the wall! Ha ha
