So heres the final tall from both bags total

1 - 1971-S (Silver)
1 - 1976-S (Silver)
1 - 1977-S (Clad)
4 - 1973-D
7 - Gold Plated Ikes Various Years

As for varieties I have a 3 small bins of 71 / 72 / 76 that I still need to look at with a magnifying glass. I had sorted all 2k of them into those pile but I saw how large the piles were and took another approach. I went through them and only kept the nicer ones to look at. So I probably have 100-150 to sort through. I'm considering getting a USB microscope to help me out so I dont have to strain my eyes...

I think when I go in tomorrow to get my halves I'm gonna ask for another 2k, maybe 5k in Ikes. I have got some interest from my CL ad I posted as well so well see if that shakes out.

@MrClick did you look at every 71/72/76 in the bags or just the nicer one?

If I were you, I would check all of those dates. Why pass over a rare variety, even circulated?

@Mr. Click

I detect an upcoming need for a general box of candy for the tellers

Trust me - it makes for good relations and thankful tellers.

I did the same exact thing. I went in to get my normal 1500 in halves yesterday and as the one teller was helping me carry it all out I told him to have the lady do Ikes again.

I had the same idea Mr Click. Was going to get the woman a Starbucks gift card. One of the other tellers there loves Ikes as well and when he saw I had 2 bags his jaw just dropped. I told him I'd pick a few nice once for him too.

It seems I have a really good relationship with them after only 2 or 3 months.

They have to get bored doing deposits all day. We give them a change of pace "pun intended". At least that is what I tell myself. They seem so happy to help, and most of them are so curious about what I'm doing with them.

The bank I use has 4 automated machines now and only 1 teller window, which is rarely used it seems.

Yeah last week I took in some of my halve and showed the woman. She was kinda surprised to see some of what I found. Especially Walking liberty, Franklins, Proofs etc.

Rather than making a new post I figure I'd just piggy back on here. No idea why they were this price but I was able to pick up some uncirculated sets for UNDER FV!

I have a couple from 73, 74, 75, 77, and 78.

This is really my first start to an "Ike collection." They are pretty nice looking coins, especially for sub FV! Since Mr Clink is a resident expert on Ikes, what should I be looking for :) I know the 75/76 in high grade is valuable (Type 1) but I can't seem to find a good grading site with pictures online. All the coins are still in their cello.

Thanks!

@sa33, Very kind of you to say, but I'm new to this myself. There are a few better collectors on here that are more knowledgable than I. Hopefully they can point you in a better direction
