Most medical complaints can be helped by swallowing a tablet. But for Heaven's sake, please don't swallow a coin to cure your addiction; it is medically inadvisable!
I get that itchy feeling when trying to complete a set. I will buy a hole filler instead of waiting for the coin that I really want. When I make the hole filler buy, it often cost me money because I will replace the coin at a later date. Once I have the hole filled I am very patient on finding the coin that I want. I seem to make this mistake over and over on hard to find coins because of my coin addiction.
I'd like to point out a similar addictive thing I do ... for about two years now, whenever walking around, I'm constantly scanning the ground for coins. Even, or especially, at shops. Parking lots, sidewalks ... I think it is a really stupid or at least unlogical thing to do, since except for a few euro cents, I haven't found anything that way, but I keep doing it.
Well let me ask this. Have you stepped in many puddles of water/oil/grease, gum, or otherwise tripped over anything while you were looking where you were walking over that time? (For all I know Slovenia could have the best sidewalks in the world and you wouldn't need to watch where you walk...)
Haha, shadz & Cascade: thank you for lifting my spirit :) And to answer your question, no, I haven't had any accidents since I picked up that habbit :) I just miss other things. Like people and nature and that sort of stuff :)
There's people everywhere, and nature is about a mile away and turn left. Keep walking you can't miss it. In nature you better watch where you are walking to other wise you could trip over anything! (might find some dropped coins from hikers too.)
Yeah, just last week I found 2 € coin and a lighter together in the middle of the forest (even off trail). Telling by an empty zip-bag only a meter or two away, this stuff was not dropped by hikers. :D
Look at it this way . Coin addiction is better than some of the other alternatives. There is no help for this addiction called Numismaticanervosatitis...........
