I recently started to collect 2006 coins (the year my daugther was born), so I periodically jump on ebay looking for such coins. I got on a little bit ago and found a 2006 Ben Franklin (Founding Father) silver proof. I only had 4 minutes so I tried to do some quick research and quickly bid. I ended up getting the coin for $40.50 w/ shipping. The coin goes for $53 on APMEX. I'm pretty sure I got a good deal, and unless someone tells me otherwise, I think I'll go to bed happy tonight.

Hmm...I wasn't familiar with this strike, until I looked it up. It seems they skirted by the whole turkey vs. eagle issue, instead using a Fugio cent for the reverse. In his time, B. Franklin hated the eagle as a symbol of the US, and actively campaigned for the turkey as the national bird. This is one reason the eagle took such a small role on the reverse of the Franklin half.
