France: Louis X111 (1610-43), AE double tournois.

Date (11: o'clock position, rev.), probably 1635, bit difficult to read.

Hi, The coin should be copper and weigh around 2.8 grams. It is from France, Louis XIII Double Tournois 1630 or 1640 Mint Mark D (Lyon). The 0 to the left of the cross on the side with the 3 Fleur-de-lis is the last date number. It had a date run between 1628 and 1640. I am not positive, but the number to the left of the 0 looks more like a 3 than a 4. The mint mark is under the bust and appears to be a D. Can you confirm by looking more closely than the picture allows?

I have many Double Tournois in my collec tion and yours seems to fit in the later half of the rule of Louis XIII also during his reign Marie de Bourbon appears on some Double Tournois

I think the last date digit is a 5. If you look, the rounded portion appears large, but the other two strokes are visible at the top. I agree that the third digit looks like a 3, though.

The catalog shows no coins minted in 1635. Since the beading above the digit I am guessing is a zero starts drifting in from the edge there, I think that is what may be making it look like a different digit.
