Trusting you are being tongue in cheek about actually recognizing the "actual" coin . . . I don't even remember which auction I picked this up at . . . they've been sitting in a bag for a few years now anyway - guess it's always possible that it was in your possession at one point in time . . . .small world.

Don't think it will make VF, F-15 at best.

Ag: If it's a Newfie coin it usually STAYS in my posession.. I have a VERY hard time letting them go. I have a special place for newfie coins in my heart. I know I would never let one like this back into the wild.

I love the little flick of torquoise toning just past the 6 o'clock mark under the ribbon. A coin like this wouldn't leave my collection for that simple feature.
Reason I asked is I thought I had seen a picture of this in my varieties notes... Once I get a new home computer I will be able to let you know when I double check.

Why are we bringing up a thread more than two years old
and not really adding anything of value to it?
(Besides adding to your post count)

Apologize - I was just reacting to a reply earlier today on a coin I had not seen, and I failed to check on the original posting date. I only replied because I wanted in fact to ADD to the thread that I felt the coin was cleaned (not discussed earlier). Let's not be catty.

Coinfrog-
This wasn't aimed at you.
I assumed you just read the previous post
and followed suit.

S'OK man, no problem. Thing is, I actually read every reply without paying attention to the posting dates, and when there was no mention of the obvious cleaning, I just jumped in. I'll try to be more careful!

It would be a F12 for me. Nice coin however, with sweet toning @ 6.
