Maybe your right chequer but I think the last thing we need is another grading service. Maybe CCCS will step up to the plate and offer similar things to PCGS if ICCS doesn't but I have a feeling CCCS is also a fairly small outfit. I'd extend the same offer to CCCS if they wanted a website refresh :)
ahhh gotcha that makes more sense :) . Maybe i'll have to send my coins to PCGS if I ever want them graded just the for the photo/registry features. Because we all know taking photo's of your coins is no easy task.
I whole heartedly agree to that! Taking really good photos of coins is an impressive skill. And I fear a task that may require more equipment than I currently have at my disposal.
Just think about this..... There are probably way more coin collectors in the state of California than there is in all of Canada. A company serving such a large population can do so much more as they are also doing so much more volume!
I have never stepped foot inside of the office of ICCS but a friend of mine has and the way he described it was like a small family business. I think ICCS sees their business as something relatively small and niche. They provide a good service for a good price but manage their costs and minimize overhead. If they had a market like the United states I think expanding their operation would be wise, but as it stands I think they do a great service for a decent fee so there's no need to mess with something if it isn't broken.
Name another almost any other business in 2015 that doesn't have a website? How comfortable are you sending a valueable coin to an operation without any receptionist or security, like I said before I doubt PCGS or NGC operates in this fashion
I have been to ICCS... they certainly don't operate like this!

I should iterate, that ICCS serves predominately a strong Canadian dealer and collector market. I use ICCS for coins I want to sell to Canadian collectors, because that is what most collectors want. I find Canadian collectors tend to be less competitive and registry sets seem to have a lesser appeal north of the border.
However, for exceptional high grade coins with eye-appeal, or bigger errors, I tend to use PCGS for my inventory. My personal collection is undergoing a long term transition to PCGS. I got a bit of a eye-opening lesson in NFLD bronze coins, and what was acceptable in Canadian TPG holders was not acceptable in PCGS holders. I am more educated by this process, and am now just starting to transfer my small cent collection to PCGS.

For those who live in the GTA area, you will be truly amazed at their operation if you visit, but they are really nice and helpful. For better errors and key dates nothing beats a PCGS slab

My transition to PCGS occurred when I could not sell graded ICCS coins on ebay as "graded coins". I had amassed quite a lot of ICCS flips but I was unable to advertise the grade in the title or in the description.
I tried to fight with ebay; Seriously, who would know better about Canadian coins than ICCS?!!
I eventually sold them ICCS as raw... I will never buy ICCS again until they are an ebay recognized grading authority.

However... they went overboard with their 2015 pricing increases IMO... and as a result they suffered a significant drop in submissions. Investors seem to be nervous also... CLCT is not looking too good right now.
