While that is a valuable coin @Germanicus, I prefer your seated cc's. Especially that quarter. I have never paid that much for a coin, but I have stacked and unstacked circulated bullion coins over 30 years. I noticed that an 1891-cc eagle that I sold had appreciated much more than any other coin, and now I focus on accumulating dates/mints I like over commons.

The most I've ever spent on a single coin must have been in the $30-50 range, as most of my expensive coins have been purchased below that.

I think I've spent more money in buying 40% silver halves @ face value from the bank rather than I have buying an expensive coin.

I've had a lot of coins given to me as well.

My most expensive coins are the ones I over paid when I started in my numismatic journey. LOL!

1865 MSPL Dime in a PCGS MS63 holder, I spent thousands on this. It was invigorating to say the least to buy a coin like this and I will do it again when I have the chance.

Early Turban, your gold collection, which I have seen plenty of on the CCF, is really remarkable. Did you buy these coins decades back or in recent years?

OK, I gave the whole story behind this purchase in this thread, but my new "most expensive coin" will be this one as soon as I actually have it in hand some time next week:

Beautiful coins everybody! Thanks for posting these pictures! I am a low end collector but am purchasing "nicer" coins for my 7070 and I may have it finished in 10 more years or so. Keep the pics coming!

I didn't take long to get within 1 spot (+ 2 random commem halves) of finishing, but a lot of the coins are not exactly the nicest, to say the least...
