Figuring out the VAM for a 1923-D Peace dollar with a die crack will take some dedication, time and a little luck wouldn't hurt. Of the 100+ VAMs listed nearly all are die cracks that have evolved into listable die breaks. Maybe not the most appealing example but it certainly has a lot of character. I like the peripheral toning.
I just checked the SSDC registry census, which shows 7 specimens. 2 MS 64, 2 MS 63, 1 MS 61, 1 AU 58, and 1 AU 55. I would love to find a nice VLDS of this VAM with heavy displacement!
Also, I concur that this coin is pretty original and has a nice look to it ;)
