My lord barry. That 03 proof is absolutely stunning! Why is it impaired though?

Impaired? What makes you say that?

It looks like a stunning coin, but it only graded PF-63. By modern proof standards, this is *technically* an impaired proof.

The grade. What's putting it at 63?

Oh. You had me worried there, since "Impaired" usually means an improper cleaning or the like. As to why it "only" got a grade of PR63, I'm guessing the small scratch to the right of the eagle's head on the reverse had something to do with it, and there are a few other dings here and there that might be affecting the overall grade. Not that I'm complaining, mind you -- I could barely afford it in this grade and it would have been completely unattainable in a higher grade.

It's absolutely stunning barry and I would probably scoop it up in less than a heartbeat over a grade higher in blast white

Since Moe opened the door for a modern dollar, why not a modern commemorative?

Nice selection of dollars, especially the 1795 -- I can see why you didn't narrow it down to just one.
