with a witness who videoed it

Again, a video of a coin next to a hole, just like the other one. You sure it was a witness and not an accomplice?

This thread is getting more out there all the time. And I didn't like all the postings of facebook links in the replies. The moderators should have suspended the account for breaking the rules that many times, especially since it is new, basically spamming this site.

Will everyone stop trying to discredit and harass the OP. We're here to help, not offend. We'll make a verdict of his intentions once the PCGS results are in. I'm a bit disappointed in how rude everyone has been to the OP.

Even if it comes back legit, I'd bet my last dollar the entire thing was staged, both coins. Two "Proof" videos that were just coins next to a hole. He's sponsored by a MD company. Slamming links to Facebook in all original posts. Not buying it for one stinkin' minute.

I was thinking about it objectively lately weighing all sides and what's known and a startling realizations hit me. The coins being graded real by pcgs doesn't mean the story and videos must be true or real. I don't think we will ever know for certain tbh.

I agree there has been a lot of doubt here but we will see in the end. Just as many members have said too, we don't know if it was staged at all and never will. I would like nothing more than this story to be true, at the very minimum hopefully the coin is.

Okay, the video of the 1806 $5 coin shows the coin next to the hole stuck in the soil, you can clearly see when I pulled it off of the dirt that it was stuck. When I dug the hole and seen yellow is when I grabbed my phone and did the video before knowing what is was, I didn't even know what denomination it was till I got home and looked online. As far as posting it on other FB pages and sending people to my friend's page to watch the video- I first asked for permission to provide a direct link.

I've bought all of my equipment from kellyco over the years and Blake who is the admin of the FB page is a friend and works at kellyco, but the page is strictly his. I gave props to both Kellyco and Garrett, and the Nel coil - like an infomercial for all of them. The 1806 was found on a colonial site which is now a field that aa friend of mine owns. Yesterday, I took my nephew/ MD partner to some old school grounds which is now private property and owned by another friend and found the 1853 coin with the broken bezel and necklace. I know it is hard to believe for some and there are a lot of people who don't believe me, but this is all 100% true. I submitted my 1806 coin find to Garrett's find of the month. I did not submit to any magazine yet, due to a big magazine says on their site it must be graded and authenticated by a TPG first.

I submitted my gold coin through Christopher's Coins in Oneonta NY because he is the closest PCGS dealer. I'm glad and thankful that some people are believing me, I know, believe me I know that these two finds seem like a miracle and to me they are, been detecting for over 25 years and never found a gold coin until November 5th and then the other one yesterday . If someone has and advise on where or who to submit my story and photos to, I'd appreciate it. Anyone who wants to can call Chris at his coin shop & speak to him, he held it, looped it , insured it for $20,000, and submitted it for me for a price of $250 and sent it out last Monday. I'm sorry, but why would anyone think I would make this story up, and where could I have possibly got these coins.

I am a retired nurse who worked for NYS for many years (a nurse for 19 years). Those who know me, know 100% that I am as host as they come and definitely found these coins. I've helped people all of my life in any way I could and still do. My best friend who is a Vietnam Vet & retired NY police officer can vouch for me and these finds. Sorry that it is so hard for people to believe my once in 10 lifetimes finds. My best friend told me - Glenn , you have a good heart and help everyone and now good things are coming to you. And that meant more to me than anything.

bonkers

Glenn, I hope you're being legit. I am sorry I jumped on the coin for being fake, after those initial diagnostics were shown and coupled with those we do not speak of, well, I thought it was fake.

If it is real, I would hope to see some news coverage of this. Just like the Saddle Ridge find, this is BIG news. It may not be $3MM worth of gold but its a pretty pristine looking $20,000 coin from what I see and to be dug from a site as you describe is news worthy. The right reporters and locals will validate you.

For me, the more you try to lend credibility to yourself the more you sound like you have none. Stop with your mother's birthday, your BFF and his NYPD/Vietnam credentials etc... who cares? You're either genuine or your not. All the testimonials and invoking family ties means nothing.

I've seen the videos as I am now a member of the group. They also lend little to no credibility to your cause of genuine stature. If I have a TV news reporter contact you will you speak to her? I happen to know an anchor in that part of upstate ny and you will probably recognize her as soon as she contacts you. May I make that happen through FB?

Approximately one year ago we dealt with another metal detector find on this site. It was a rare 1901-S quarter that was allegedly found on an old abandoned Overland Trail stage stop outside of Boise, ID. We followed that coin from just after the find, through shopping it to dealers, through grading and finally through auction at GC.

If you wanna see how that whole process went you can search the archives here on CCF.

If you had just posted pics of your find here you would have been much better off. The story that came along with it sounded horse manure'ish to me and the meter pegged out. The BFF, nurse, veteran, retired police officer stories don't mean diddly squat here. Who cares what your BFF, retired cop friend or veteran did? I surely don't. I'm a veteran, my Dad was a WW2 vet, my gggrandfather was at the Battle of San Jacento and was a Texas Ranger, my GGuncle was captured by the Union Army and died as a POW in St. Louis. So, does it change anybody's opinion of me or what I have to say? I highly doubt it.

Just post the pics of the coin when it comes back and let's take it from there. Good luck!

Ok, a video of a coin stuck in moist dirt next to a hole. That makes it more believable.

Why don't you just wait until it comes back from PCGS, and then post a photo of the holder; then we'll see if it grades, comes back as "details," or ends up in a "body bag." End of case and endless discussion.
