http://www.ebay.com/itm/1914-d-linc...p=true&rt=ncHad been watching this for about a week now and I felt almost obligated to purchase it, as I've been needing one for ages. A nice AG-03 to G-04 piece. Still worth well over $120+ and it has a nice spot in my book. Regardless of the fact, it was essentially almost free because I picked up an item at Goodwill today for $9 and I should be able to make about $50-$60 off of it, plus I sold those SLQ's I purchased last week or two, sold 10 full date/partial date for $35 shipped. Not bad. :)

Nice... But are you sure it isn't fake? Anyways, it is a LOVELY coin... Are you going to submit it to ANACS? They are having a special insider deal, 7 coins for $75 including return shipping!

You have a lot more faith in crummy pics than I do.

7 coins for $75...not bad. Probably won't, I want to put it in my dansco album loose. I'm pretty pumped for the coin to come in the mail. The reverse has several light scratches on the top, but I don't think that'd pull it far down to a details coin.
I'm happy with it, regardless if I overpaid several dollars. It's just a filler for now in my Dansco, until I get a nice VF-30+ coin.

Why would you want to spend money on a filler when you know you want to upgrade it - and will no doubt lose money reselling the filler?

As dampening as CoinFrogs opinion may be, I agree with him. It doesn't make sense to purposely purchase a coin that you know you don't want in your collection later.

I'm not reselling the filler necessarily. I have several other whitman 1909-1940 books that are nearly complete that are obviously missing a 1914 D.

I agree with Coinfrog, pretty gutsy move buying a 14-D using these photos.

Congrats Drew on filling that spot in your Dansco! I have quite a lot of filler coins in my albums and I am satisfied to have something in the empty space. Enjoy!

Not something I would have done on two counts. The first, buying a coin on ebay. The second, buying a filler. I buy for keeps. I never upgrade, but that is just me. However, I appreciate knowing you have a place to put your downgrades. Not too different from Just Carl and his multiple Whitman albums. To be honest, I am optimistic for you. You certainly know how to find the fakes, so I have to trust your judgment on this one.
