Today's spendage as follows.

Transaction #1: a single half dollar was fed into the self checkout at a Walmart Neighborhood Market this afternoon. There would have been more, but $15 in dollar coins were used for this transaction as that I'm helping that other project as well.

Transaction #2: On the way back from the in-laws, I stopped off at a Quik Trip to stock up on diet Coke. This came out to an even $3.50, requiring seven JFKs to close the sale.

All half dollars were counterstamped with my initials and a serial number.

This now has us at $87,636.

I want my neighborhood to be flooded with JFKs.

Thankfully I've been keeping an improvised note pad (piece of paper folded halfway repeatedly until sized for my shirt pocket) with which to document my transactions.

It is approaching noon o'clock in my time zone and here is what I have to report so far:

One JFK in the express line at Albertson's. The nice lady cashier noted that "you don't see these very often!". I told her I get them from the bank to look for silver, and those that aren't silver get spent.

Two JFKs at a convenience store that used to be called Gas City. It's now a Shell station. I wanted an iced tea since I was out and about.

Seven more JFKs were ditched at a Circle K (a different one from my last report) for two 2 liter bottles of Diet Coke.

So....by my reckoning, this makes $5 worth that have been cast off into the wild, awaiting for a roll hunter out there to notice the counterstamps that I placed on all of them.

$87,631 is now the size of that mountain that's staring us down. I say we stare it down!

Six JFKs were exchanged at Jimmie Cone, a local purveyor of frozen dairy, for a sundry treat of twisted vanilla/chocolate ice cream, copiously covered with rainbow jimmies. Consumed with alacrity, and quickly, as it was a hot and laborious day, I felt no regrets after the feast. My shirt can be laundered. Happy Labor Day everyone!

$87,628 and counting

There are two transactions today to report.

#1: A Quik Trip convenience store on the way to work, which got to see seven more of my half dollars this morning.
#2: I stopped off at Burger King for lunch. My last time there, the cashier said something to her co-workers about the dollar bills I used that had Where's George stamps on them. So today, she got six counterstamped half dollars.

Total today is $6.50, which trims the grand total to $87,591.

I normally would not support a Diet Coke habit, but I suppose this is for good cause.
