I watched a demonstration on high lustre coins. the gentleman doing the demo. used a device called fresnel dome. it is and idea that has come out of Germany. this dome helps to light your coin perfectly every time. the images of the bright silver coins. that was done with this dome was stunning. it works well with copper actually any metal. I will see if I can find one of these domes and try it. if I can get the same results. it will make lighting the coins very easy any body interested to try themselves this dome is called a fresnel dome have a great one

I purchased a microscope objective 4 power. I explained to ray that I would like to get a little more view. so he told me to try a 3 power and gave me a link. where I purchased one off ebay here is the results of a 3 power microscope objective. see the rock on the island on the 1969 nickel dollar. the other image is of the opposite end of the canoe.

oh thank you ray. I looked this up to understand what you meant ray. see near as I can tell. you would know more about this than myself. the sensor is so large on the Sony a7r. that when I crank the microscope objective all the way out. the image coming in can not fill the sensor. I think I am right not sure. but I believe that is what is going on. I googled this and that is what it looks like. ray Sony has come out with a stacking mount for there cameras have you seen this tool. very interesting.
