Not saying you shouldn't have posted the video. I watched it too. Just noticing how fast this market is moving. Thanks for posting it.

Seems like there is an arbitrage opportunity: buy junk silver well below spot at a coin show, hedge with paper put options (e.g. SLV) and close the trade when the refiners are back in business again.
Edit to add: just checked the cost: is about 15% of the price of SLV to hedge until 12/31/2026. So, if you can buy junk silver for 20% below spot, you are good (assuming the discount is gone by the end of the year).

I watched that video on Youtube. Many dealers now are having trouble getting orders filled by their wholesalers. 3 to 4 weeks out for delivery. I think as time goes on the supplies at local dealers are going to dry up and they will be forced to pay higher prices. Still a lot of sellers but looks like more new buyers are coming into the market.

Melt value of Morgan and Peace dollars is $71.01. Feels like I'm recording history.

I went to a show earlier and junk seemed to be for sale anywhere from 66x to 72x but generally more between 68-72x face. I did score these three commemorative dollars for $55 each, so not everything was that high.

Right now, JM Bullion is paying $60.29 for modern commemorative dollars in varied condition. Of course, their minimum sell order is $3000 which precludes selling small amounts of anything except gold.
