I generally prefer to buy pre-1914 Sovereigns (Britain came off the gold standard during WW1), but it was 30th birthday and I wanted to buy something that said 2015 on it. I purchased this one all the way back in January. It's my favorite because of its beautiful color. I can't help but stare at it. The smoky gray reverse is mesmerizing.
