NumisMatt New Member United States 6 Posts	Posted 12/14/2015 08:55 am Obtained this piece for my collection recently and noticed some strange wear on the reverse by shield/wing. Judging from the luster I find it hard to believe it was caused by extensive circulation, however it is slightly underweight at 11.2grams and could have been cleaned I suppose. Any thoughts or analysis will be much appreciated! (I apologize in advance for the low quality images) Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 12/15/2015 12:02 pm With the slightest amount of grease on a recessed device, it prevents the coin from having a full strike in that area. The fact that it is not smooth tells me it is a grease issue. If it were damage, we would see some scratches. Also the left wing is showing the same thing in that area.
