Nice talons! I just love the way the dies with the incuse space between the talons "slap" together with the machines that were adopted from the military in 1964 to make the 1964 Peace dollars. You find a lot more of these from Denver than Philly because Denver did not have an automatic shut off. That is awesome and rare that these are from Philly.

Wait a second Kid, I didn't know that. So Philly had auto shutoff mechanisms but Denver didn't. That makes sense as to why the Philly's are scarce and why this is possibly from a single die as most TH's are 71d. I've seen a 78d as well bit no other P. I'm still mystified that I found 8 of em in one roll. Where'd you lean that tidbit Kid?

It is further to the right. It is partly olive leaves and part of the talon.

It's the little triangle void between the legs (talons) that causes it. It's raised enough to reach the shallow relief of the head on the die when they clash. Also, they can appear anywhere in the middle forehead to eye area from die rotation and some have 2 or three clashes in different areas of the upper middle head area
