Unfortunately it's ungradable. It's a cast counterfeit.

Yes agree that cc mintmark is the smoking gun as a fake.

Please tell me you didn't pay anything over a dollar for it, because if you did, you lost big time.

Ok, please explain. Are you saying the CC has been added? Because the weight and size is correct an it passed the magnet test.I am comparing it to my slabbed CC and I can't tell the difference. You guys are the pros I just need all the details before I go back to this auctioneer. He is an old classmate and will make it right. I need to be sure before I approach him. Thanks for your help.

Compare the thickness to a real Morgan. This counterfeit is likely thicker to achieve the correct weight.

Here is a genuine 82-CC in similar grade to help you spot the differences.. Note the difference in the CC mintmark and date fonts, among others.. Can you spot other differences?

Not even a decent fake. To go to all that effort and screw up that badly, wow.

Thanks everyone for your help. My pride was hurt a bit, but will heal. I probably never would have caught this without your help. I contacted the seller and they are going to make it right. Thanks....Smoke1439
