An ongoing argument with my father who says this Morgan is an XF coin, while I believe it to be no better than VF 30. Who wins?

Let your Father win this argument. It makes him feel good.

The wear on the eagles wings will keep it at 30-35 at best. Still a nice coin!

Does it really matter? Agree to disagree, if you have to. Neither of you can change the condition. Good fathers are much more valuable than coins. I miss mine Let this one go through to the keeper.

It's got nice eye appeal, maybe he is factoring that in too despite what the wear keep the grade to.

I too am at VF30 not sure it makes a solid VF35 based solely on wear, but it is a tough date (Semi-Key) and at the TPGs they seem to grade less harshly on them than on the common dates, so a grade of VF35 or even EF40 wouldn't surprise me too much. Most of these 1895-O dollars I run across are polished, or dinged up pretty good, you don't often find one this nicely preserved.

35 obverse, 30 reverse, drops it to a net 30. Nice coin nonetheless.

It's not XF, that's for sure.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I'm gonna concede to my dad....it's a really nice, eye appealing hard date.
