An ongoing argument with my father who says this Morgan is an XF coin, while I believe it to be no better than VF 30.

Who wins?

The wear on the eagles wings will keep it at 30-35 at best. Still a nice coin!

Does it really matter?

Agree to disagree, if you have to.
Neither of you can change the condition.
Good fathers are much more valuable than coins.
I miss mine

Let this one go through to the keeper.

My condolences to you.

Back to the coin at hand, I'm with the crowd. Maybe a VF-35.

It's got nice eye appeal, maybe he is factoring that in too despite what the wear keep the grade to.

I too am at VF30 not sure it makes a solid VF35 based solely on wear, but it is a tough date (Semi-Key) and at the TPGs they seem to grade less harshly on them than on the common dates, so a grade of VF35 or even EF40 wouldn't surprise me too much. Most of these 1895-O dollars I run across are polished, or dinged up pretty good, you don't often find one this nicely preserved.

35 obverse, 30 reverse, drops it to a net 30. Nice coin nonetheless.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I'm gonna concede to my dad....it's a really nice, eye appealing hard date.
