I think this is either a small rim Cud or a folded over Rim Fin. I don't really understand how to tell the difference? Any ideas?

I think the Cud has to affect the field or device.

Looks like a rim Cud. Folded over fin will be a flap of metal so it should move if you poke at it (with a toothpick or something).

CoinMasters:
Pete is right by calling it a "rim Cud" check it out:

They seem way more common on quarters though:

A rim Cud will not have visible copper but a Rim Fin can have visible copper.

Looks like Rim Fin folded over you can see it on most of the rim on the reverse of the coin. Also as biokemist said you can see the copper. Its obvious please don't guess without a definition as to why you think it is what you say it is. False information can be detrimental to a newcomer who sees a post once and doesn't check back with it after someone has corrected it.

hmm not sure. I dont see any copper tweak... I think it might just be the lighting. look at the bottom of the S. it looks copper there too from the light. this could be a rim Cud, but I'm not sure

I am leaning to a small rim Cud; it is not a collar clash. If you would like, send it to me and I can take a look at it.

Looks like pre-strike damage to me. The displaced metal was struck into the design rim, but not forcefully, owing to the reduced effective striking pressure in this area.
Error coin writer and researcher.
