Quote: I started out collecting ALL of them, but when they issued the S mint set after the initial release it kind of put a bad taste in my mouth. The S-mint coins are certainly an annoyance, especially since they started the third year in.

I save a few rolls of each design. Yes, the mintages went up in 2013, but, unlike the State Quarters, the average person can't get BU rolls of ATB Quarters from a bank at face value. The first three 2012 designs, I really backed up the truck on those. Even if mintages stay above 100 million through 2021, you would need those early low-mintage quarters to complete an ATB set. 2012-S Quarters are also good, due to low initial collector awareness. I do wonder if it's worth holding the 2013+ "S" Mint rolls, since (basically) the entire population is in collector hands, and attrition should be near zero. The regular 2012 P and D business strikes combine low mintages with "greater than State Quarter" attrition (since people could not usually save BU rolls at face value). I still find 2012 ATB's in my change every so often, and I've saved a whole roll's worth of circulated Acadia-D Quarters from my change. I might put this roll up for sale on ebay in 2021, just for the heck of it!.

I collect the ATB coins (Silver Proof, Proof, Denver, and Philadelphia). Also working on a set that I am pulling from circulation. I used to collect the San Francisco in rolls from the mint, but let them go. Probably shouldn't have, but I did. When I finish the circulation set, I may put together another one. Pulling good copies from circulation is possible and will probably be available for a number of years to come. I don't try to put together rolls as I thilnk that upside value for these is low.

Still collect them, I enjoy them more than the State Quarters. Used to collect them from circulation, but now just stick to the silver proofs and proof sets. I also like to pick up the three coin sets for the places I have visited.

I'm putting together the P&D set from circulation. I am also currently still pulling all of them from circulationt that I find. I am up to several rolls worth now though, so I may consider stopping doing so soon unless I can find someone to relieve me of some of my hoard

I'm collecting them with very moderate interest. I am filling an amazing Lighthouse album with P & D issues (also Lighthouse albums for States and Presidents). I have this CRAZY idea in my head that I need to collect the modern issues of my lifetime, so I do collect the US ATB, Staties, Sac dollars and Presidential dollars, but I have to admit there's not much thrill in any of those series for me. My excitement for the hobby comes with Type coins (especially IHCs and Buff Nickels), Early 20th Century, selected Commems and World Crowns. The sheer volume of quarters and "golden" coins takes much of the excitement out of collecting these series. Jack

Yes - working on a complete set (P & D) from circulation. I almost have em all - missing a few 2010 "P" mint coins

I am collecting them also I do like the designs a lot that said I agree there's way too many and especially as jbuck said the S mint starting 3rd year in is ridiculous. No album for them yet though and curious if dansco makes one for just the proofs silver and clad?

Because the Lighthouse albums have 2 ports for each ATB issue, but are not marked "P", and "D", I have a friend who is using one, and he collects one silver, and one clad proof for each issue in his Lighthouse album. Combined with the very high quality of the albums, and the proofs, it makes an amazing collection. Jack

Ok ive found the lighthouse ones and yes they look sweet but that was my next question jack but you answered it so that sounds like it will work-but are there any dansco that only have 2 ports also but labeled silver proof and clad proof specifically? If not I'm going to go with the lighthouse I think

Slamnbass - I don't think Dansco has such an album. You might be able to make something work with one of their blank quarter albums. BTW, if you do decide to purchase a Lighthouse album, for goodness sake check ebay. They are frequently sold at huge discount (less than $20). The same friend I referenced previously purchased his at a swap meet for $5! Also, if you should choose to get a Lighthouse album, the covers are heavily padded, 4-ring binder construction, and a first-class dust cover is included. Best regards, Jack
