Quote: Cool site, never seen it before.. Numista allows the collector to keep an inventory of his/her collection. It started with a coin catalogue & recently has been building a banknote catalogue. The site came about to allow collectors to swap duplicate coins/notes & there's a forum too. Quote: Not sure how scarce it is but I'd never seen one and was immediately attracted to it The catalogue has an algorithm which allows one to see (relatively) how common or uncommon any one note is *(with several limitations). For example: Take a look at the page for the 1 Peso Durango note. Under "Get this note" and above "Contribute to the catalogue" headings you will find a Numista Rarity Index. The Durango 1 Peso has a Numista Rarity Index of 95. Anything above 90 is generally pretty tough so I'd say your note is quite tough. *(The index is based on member input, on how many members entered a particular note, wish to trade it, etc. The catalogue also lumps together tough "a" variations with common "b" or "c" variations & so often the index # should be taken with a grain of salt) I encourage all collectors to use as many online tools as they possibly can to educate themselves about their acquisitions. Hope you find the site useful.

That looks like a Logan & Arscott (S-971b) from the Canadian Bank of Commerce SkippyTopaz. That's their last note issued (1935 -last signature variety) featuring Juno Bull & allegorical woman. A very classical design & lovely note. Here's a much more common 5 Pound (P-75b) banknote, also the last of its kind but from the Republic of Ireland:

Thanks jbuck! I should have mentioned that the £5 features sister Catherine McAuley who founded the Sisters of Mercy in 1831. The "Sisters of Mercy" often taught children who could not afford to go to school in Ireland. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_McAuleyHere's a 100 Kroner (P-43d) from Norway featuring Camilla Collett a feminist writer from Norway.

Quote: Great 100 Kroner! Quote:Excellent! -Thanks I.G.E & jbuck! Here's another low-hanging fruit I picked up from a discount seller on the bay. It's the common 5 Deutsche Mark (P-37) from the last Federal Republic's series of paper money issued in 1991: It features Bettina von Arnim (born as Catharina Ludovica Magdalena Brentano).

Josefa Camejo was feature on Venezuela's 2 Bolivars note in 2018. She was a revolutionary who fought against the royalists in the early 19th century.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
