Imagine my excitement when I found a major rotated die while roll searching nickels. After calming down a bit I looked closer at the reverse. Something just didn't look right. Why would someone do this? FYI the tooth pick was left in the same spot while the coin was flipped head over tails.

2001-P is a year that has rotated dies. It's one of the years I found too. See listed here: http://rotateddies.50webs.com/census.htm

It's very likely that yours is genuinely rotated as well. Is yours about 165 degrees CW or about 35 degrees CCW? It's hard to tell how you rotated it. (The one listed on the site is 165 degrees, however mine is 115 degrees)

The rim looks normal. I'll have to look at the amount of rotation when I get home. Maybe I have the real deal?

BlueSolo, the reverse is rotated about 35 degrees CCW.......wow this must be the real deal. What would you think the value is?
