Feeling rather pleased as I won a 1919 D Standing Liberty quarter last night.

Sellers photographs are pretty poor but I'll take some of my own when it arrives.

I see two which ended last night....one was graded PCGS vf35 and one raw one from Latvia. I am hoping you didn't buy the Latvian one cause it doesn't look right to me.

Yes that's the one

Pretty worn but also pretty rare over here (UK).

Can't make out the date from his photo but fingers crossed!
Rest in Peace

If you can't read the date then in the U.S.A. it's only value is silver melt.
But I hope you can see it in hand.

I'm hopeful that as it was sold as a '19 D, then that means the seller could make the date out and I'll be able to make it out even if faint.

Otherwise it should have been sold as dateless, and if CCF can't identify the date it will be returned as 'not as advertised'.

Wish me luck

Good luck. I can only see the very tops of the last two digits, so it could easily be a 1918-D. Even at that, for £2.50 it's a nice deal.

Good luck of course, but it seems a bit of a muck about for such a marginal coin.

You may be right but I thought it was worth a small gamble.

I'm currently concentrating on putting together a collection of Barber and Standing Liberty quarters from what is available in the UK.

(Not a full collection of every date and MM but as many as I can find on a small budget).

I just did a little research and there's currently more than 16,000 Standing Liberty and Barber quarters on ebay.com, and I would estimate probably only around 10-20 in total on ebay.co.uk at any one time.
