Anybody ever own one or know somebody who did? What was your process like to get your coin "official"?

Maybe you (or he/she) is still sitting on it and if so....what is holding you up?


I do not have one just an avid Pattern guy and curious how the process is because even today people discover new ones.

Lots & lots of privately made counterfeits, fakes, tokens, metallic play money, and alterations, etc. around since 1800's. Chances you have a Mint pattern slim; but possible. Send to Grading service. ANACS and ICG give free opinions at coin shows they attend.
