Strong evidence of a south to southwest hit to the letters with an appearance of metal being taken from the south and mushed into the north on some. Last photo shows no evidence of incoming projectile on the coin south of the letters. Looks isolated. How is that?
On the motto of the cent, it looks like there may also have been a bit of grease that affected those devices. Probably happened from a wiping of the die with a cloth that pushed the grease into certain areas of the die, thus leaving the bottoms of those devices prevented from forming.
