I received the same e-mail, at least they are acknowledging the mistake. Who in their right mind would return a set with an error like this?

Quote: Who in their right mind would return a set with an error like this? I once met an NCLT collector who showed me a photograph of a $5 silver pink ribbon coin, uni-face (was struck over another blank planchet). I asked to see the coin and he told me that, Quote: It was defective, so I took it back to the mint and exchanged it. I told him he probably handed over a $1000 error coin, back to the RCM.

$125.33 with a day to go. 47 bidders! Did I say I was going to keep mine?

Yes you did, as I recall. This is going to be interesting auction to watch, the last 5 seconds will tell the story.

Auctions are strange, it's a 40 to 50 dollar packaging error, especially with more being found daily, hope he gets 5000.00 for it.

I got my set from the RCM yesterday and (unfortunately for me) all of the coins are 2016's. No break for me!

Only a few hours left. It's up to $197 CDN.

The current second and third place bidders have only bid on this item in the past 30 days.

$197 CDN is a lot of money for a packaging error in my opinion. If someone opens or accidently tears the pliofilm packaging and the loonie falls out, most of the value disappears.

The pliofilm in the uncirculated sets is quite sturdy but you're right, the value in solely in the packaging. Some people like to collect odd and unusual things and so I guess this fits that category.
$218 and 15 different bidders. Quite a lot of activity considering it's common to see people wait for the last few seconds and just toss in a maximum bid rather than getting involved bidding wars.

@Alan. Yes I know what you mean but personally, I've never had an issue with this seller. It might also be a buyer's ploy - private bidders without an active 30 day history, you're right that people often tend to avoid bidding against them, a winning auction strategy?
