westernsky Pillar of the Community United States 7631 Posts	Posted 01/17/2016 10:10 am I went back this morning and looked at it again and I now think it is a "D" mint coin with some gunk around the mintmark giving the illusion of an "S". On further review, you can see some of that same "gunk" around some of the lettering, particularly the U and N in United. That gunk, damage or whatever it is, appears to alter the sharpness of the lettering similiar to what is being seen with the mintmark. For $4 though, it was worth a shot and is still a nice coin for a mid-grade 7070 type set. Report this Post to the Staff
