1882 CC MS64+ with some obverse toning. I don't think these pics are that good but it's all I got. Interesting story on the place I purchased this coin. It's a well known coin shop in Panama City, FL. and the owner bought one of five known 1913 Liberty Head Nickels for 3.2 MILLION dollars!! He has it proudly displayed in a display case...it's guarded by an armed guard too! Really neat coin shop, lots and lots of GSA dollars to choose from. I'm going back in a few weeks to try my luck with an 85CC GSA coin.

Nice. Looks surprisingly like an 81 I bought last month...

Nice coin, Cascade. Are you trying to put together the GSA CC series? I'm a sucker for these big Ole silver dollars. Their unique history and link to the old West is fascinating.

Ha, I'm currently missing the 78', 79', 85', @ 90'. It's been fun trying to assemble the entire series. The funny thing is, I really didn't set out to do this when I purchased the first one, an 83CC, from a local pawn shop.

Larry Lee is sort of a interesting guy.
Nice looking GSA ... I hope you got a break on the price.

I did get a price break, I paid $400. I kind of thought that four hundred bucks was a little much but any toned Morgan, especially a Carson City GSA coin, commands a very strong premium.
I'm going back over there in a few weeks to sift through their 85CC coins. The 85CC coins bring a much bigger price tag. I'm only down here until the first week of March, then it's back to Louisville.

Your right on the toned coins ... I was not really considering that when I was thinking what a common price would be.
I see these sell for $220 to $250 often.
When I don't like paying much more for a toned Morgan's, I know collectors that do pay a lot more.
Either way ... I know pictures most times don't show how good the toning looks ...
So if your happy ... That's all that matters.

I got lucky and paid standard 62 money for my 81. Actually a touch under. The color should add a hundred or two so I was happy.

I had two things working against me to up the price on this coin: the toning AND the + sign next to 64. I've noticed whenever you purchase a Morgan with a plus next to the assigned grade, it elevates the money.

A plus usually puts the retail price in between the non-plus grade and the point higher.

I agree with Cascade with, the plus sign can put the price, for this coIn, between MS64 and MS65,
Looking at it that way ... The plus and the toning ... The price is looking ... Not to bad.
I am curious what Larry Lee will be pricing his 1885CC's at. I think I got a very good price on mine ($600) .. With no toning.

Wow...$600 for a GSA 85 cc? I would say that was an outstanding price!

I think 600 dollars is very good for an 85CC GSA coin. I'll have to keep that number in mind when I go back in there. What grade is your 85? Can you post a pic? Thanks!

I do like GSA's ... Hope to get more in the future.
