I think it is some gunk around the top and bottom of the mintmark that is giving an illusion of an "s".

I hope I'm wrong.

Although this is my first thought, I still do find it remarkable that some object would directly hit only on the mm to flatten the metal out enough to cause the perceived transformation to an S...

In the end only the TPG will tell.

Hope it's a chicken dinner winner. Heck, why not get it just to see at that price

Btw, how did that El Niño downpour a week or two ago go around your parts? Water weight snapped a huge limb on a tree in my front yard.
