Is there a rule of thumb for the increase in value that having a star adds to the value of a note? For example how much would a star add to the value of a 1935 silver certificate, in circulated grade? Many thanks Report this Post to the Staff

The series 1935 silver certs were issued over many years and ran from 1935 to 1935G, including about 7 signature combinations. Perhaps a picture would be helpful? Report this Post to the Staff

babysitr Pillar of the Community United States 1339 Posts	Posted 01/27/2016 6:29 pm A lot depends on how rare the note is to start with, and the total print run of star notes...Then factor in the collector damand and condition of the note, and you can see how difficult it would be to answer your question! Get a good reference on paper money to begin with. There are not many 1935 silver certs. that are rare or hard to get. Too much depends on condition - many stars are essentially unknown in choice or gem grades, even though the regular note may show up often in the same grades.
