Sure why not, I'd expect the 44th anniversary of the Halifax donair to be a hugely significant event!

Yes, CC and AB absolutely nothing alluring inspiring thus far for 2016...
There's gotta be something coming that'll tug on our hearts that's far beyond the concave murano painted movie based etc...themes...no?

Well Electrum, thanks for asking... I was so disappointed that RCM earlier missed the mark by completely overlooking the 105th anniversary of the Cdn invention of the egg carton at the same time the Pysanka coin was released. 1911, Joseph Coyle. What a bummer.

My next hope before winter's end was for the very significant 89th anniversary of the Cdn invention of the snow blower to be featured on a coin. Arthur Sicard, 1927. Nope, March releases are out and that's not happening either.

So unless something like the important 76th anniversary of the Cdn paint roller is commemorated, I can already see this year's a total write off for me in terms of NCLT. That was Norman Breakey, 1940, probably everyone knows that.....

The Mint is truly shameless but I expect the 44th anniversary of the Halifax donair coins will be awesome.

I thought they just issued a donair coin.

March-2016-Releases

From the way some of the questions were worded in a recent RCM survey, I do expect this year to see some of the 2017 coins for Canada's 150.

If not the actual coins, we will undoubtedly become aware of what's coming through plenty of advance hype. Select MC previewings, leaks, coin shows and reps who blab..it'll be everywhere long before the coins ever hit the till. Everyone likes to be the first to know and then tell others! RCM is keenly aware that building anticipation is a necessary element of any good marketing plan (plus it's a cheap means of advertising) and you can notice how that's already alive and well right here, on a monthly basis.

For the Toonie collectors like myself there is a nice boxed set of four $2 coins.

Unfortunately, this will be the one that breaks the completeness of my $2 collection.

Two platinum and two gold coins - and an uncut sheet of 40 $2 notes.

Mintage :150

Price $11,499.95

That one better be a "scratch-and-sniff" issue!!

RCM can't stop...new series coming

And looks like all the "affordable" silver items, now in style of Perth Mint - they all colorized.
No multi-layered prof finish anymore?

The best looking coin of the March releases and the only one I will be getting.

From the Canadian Coin and Currency VIP catalog:

March-2016-Releases

Incorrectly stated as 10,000 mintage. Rep says only 6500.

Yes, agree about "Cherry tree" coin

not for my collection, but nice one, colorfull and alive.
RCM could do the coin in the "Maple Tree canopy" style, would be awesome.

Probably people with Asian roots will like it much.
