Folks... we've become so accustomed to searching for the single leaf in the forest that proves something is not as it seems, that we've missed the essential truth here - the entire listing is a Potemkin village. Every SINGLE ELEMENT here is illusion.
There is no such thing as unsearched - even the act of putting the 'old' ones in a jar is selection a/k/a search
There are no contemporary bags of unsearched wheat cents. Until the design change was announced, there was no reason to call them "wheat cents", they were just "cents". The oddity would have been the occasional Indian Head still in circulation. The design change announcement came very late in 1958, according to Q David Bowers' 2008 A Guide Book of Lincoln Cents, it wasn't publically known until December 21, 1958. The coins were released officially on February 12, 1959.
The bag is clearly not as old as I am - it has much less wear and dust and dirt accumulated.
The seal isn't (a seal).
etc.
Whew, I was going to buy it!
