Yes, thank you. Your story as you have told still leaves a lot to ponder. Such as if this was done over the weekend, how a photo of the coin would wind up on PCGS already, and why the 1955 DDO #1 that was graded right before it does not have a photo. Or why you posted such bad photos at the beginning of the thread. Or why a supposedly different member pulled the photo from PCGS to post on here instead of posting this photo? I am happy that you are in possession of such a rare coin. It would have been much better, for me at least, that there were not so many big gaping holes.

BTW- never take it out of that slab. Because who ever graded it at AU55 was more in awe of the variety to notice the poor condition of the coin itself.

No problem Seal, I'm glad you are happy. I just wanted to get an opinion on the coin. My photos are the best I can do with an iPhone, I hope you understand. Back into the box it goes. I really appreciate each of you taking the time to grade the coin, this seems like a great community.

So what's next? I see the going rate is about half of what it was just a little over 5 1/2 years ago. Are you going to try and sell it? Or are you gonna keep it?

Rest assured that the OP and I are not the same person. I was curious to see the coin in the PCGS slab and was able to track it down rather quickly via PCGS's website so I thought I would post the pics and the link so everyone could enjoy. I am glad the OP finally posted images of the slab "coined" so to speak for proof.

Anyway's my congratulations to the OP, sweet find!

Hi Sean, I'm keeping it. I'm pretty fortunate so I don't need the money. I coin roll hunt as a hobby, my true passion is for Draped Bust Halves. With this coin I can now work on completing some interesting registry sets though.

What a great story!! It is finds like this that I like to rub in the noses of naysayers (usually coin dealers) who proclaim roll hunting is a "waste of time"...

Thanks for sharing your find with us, and to CCF!!

Hi SPP, I completely agree. I spoke with J.T. Stanton at length about this coin and he thinks there are quite a few rare coins still in circulation. I have no agenda or plug, however I never would have found this coin without Cherrypickers Guides.

Just curious, what might the low/high value on such a coin possibly be? Auction?

I'm an advocate of buy the coin not the holder, as I'm sure all of you are. That said this may not be the prettiest coin, but it is extremely rare. Conjecture has it that there may be less then 30 in existence. I was offered $18.8 at Long Beach...before you ask I will not dilvulge that info since we are veering off topic.

$18.8 seems a little low. Heck, i'll offer a full $20.00 cash in hand.
