Last night I took a few rolls from the penny and nickel box for my CRH and I and thought these were interesting. Which ones would you recommend me to keep/throw back and what kind of variety are they if any? 2002 Lincoln Cent. You can clearly see the die chip in the 0. There is also a light color mark inside the 00, but unfortunately you can't see it well in the picture. 1983P O and R are not aligned. I hope you can see the slightly tilting between front and back. 1999 P - missing "O" in Monticello. On the picture it doesn't show it, but when the coin is at an angle under the light you can see a very lightly stamp of the letter "O". Most likely the grease got it! 2016 P Jefferson - "O" in Monticello is filled. Chip from die I am guessing? 2011 P Jefferson - small die chip between the building the designer's initials. Is what it looks like to me. Also, not sure if you can see it in the picture, but "F" has a weird shape that I am guessing is from the die chip? This one I found a few nights ago and had posted on the wrong part of the website. A fellow member advised to post it here. 1970 D Jefferson with a cut. I am guessing that it was done manually a long time ago and the person tried to just push the piece back in and got worn overtime. Thoughts? Last, but not least, I found a 1956 P Jefferson in really good shape. I could only wish it had Full Step. Also found this last night.

I think you are right on every one of your suppositions.
As for which to keep, it's fine to keep all of them if you like them. But the resale value on most of these small die chips are really not worth much.
But it only costs you a few cents to keep them, and you can always spend them later if you so desire.

For 31 cents? I say keep them if you like them. Agreed that there isn't much that would sell for a lot, but I would wager that a collector of errors would give more than 31 cents for them.

Thank you all for the fast replies. Yes I am new to coin hunting/collecting and try to do as much research whenever I have time to learn about the different varieties. BTW, I found my first Buffalo nickel this morning. Unfortunately the date got completely worn out so can't tell what year it is. One thing that I am confused is "FIVE GENTS"? Instead of "FIVE CENTS".

@Moxking LOL! I had gotten a box of nickels, that I am still going through, and a box of pennies, which I am almost done with. I mainly just put aside the coins that are on my list first, and then I plan to go through them one by one carefully looking for key dates and varieties and those in great shapes from early dates.
I haven't had many luck, it all came at once last night. I just hope to keep finding these great items as it makes this hobby soo interesting and fun.

Found a few more interesting coins last night. 2 War Nickels 2 Silver Dimes 1925 Wheat penny. I was surprised that the you could still see the details on the wheat. 1955 Wheat penny with spread out words. Is this a variety? I only posted here because it was on my list. The details on the wheat is also in good shape. 1983 P with what I believe it has a die crack and weak struck "E" on reverse due to grease? And the coin is in great shape. Nice red color, Full step (don't know if you can tell in the picture) and almost look uncirculated. To me it has agreat eye appeal. Hopefully you can see the crack, but it is a line that goes from the building and ends by the letter E. You can feel the raise when sliding my finger on it. I have a question on this 1989 P Jefferson nickel The "S" on Cents seems to be doubled die. You can see that the letter itself has a stronger shape to it. And when zooming in on it, I noticed the contour on top of the belly of letter. I am sure it is not a damage, but can't be certain if it is an error, a variety or just nothing. Looking forward to hear your responses.

Found all of these inside the same roll. I am pretty sure someone collected these and accidentally took them to the bank? I don't think the picture does justice as they have a lot more eye appeal when seen live. The reverse seems to be untouched as I can see each individual step on the Lincoln center on all of them. The one that caught my eyes is the one 1983 located on the 2nd row and 5th column. It has a yellow greenish tone to it. which is a lot more visible live than in the picture, and it is my first time seeing this tone on a penny. The 1972 and 1981 is in really good shape too, but I mainly added as a reference to tone since they are the most common in those dates. IMO. BTW, I posted the same pictures in another thread about toning, but I am posting here since this thread has grown in me.

The 1942 nickel is not a War Nickel. It is a Type 1 pre-war nickel: The Type 2 with the mint marks above the dome, are silver. The type ones are not silver.
