I'm working on filling my Barber half set, and I came across this date that I need to fill. A couple of questions on this particular coin, first, who in their right mind would submit a coin in this condition? Secondly, am I missing something on the asking price of this coin? It had a mintage of over 1 million.

That is a tough one.

I don't mind buying coins like that .. if I can get them
very cheap. I would pay no where near $200.

I would never have sent it into a TPG like that,
I might spend years trying to make it better.
But I think the corrosion might be to deep to
make it much better.
Rest in Peace

I see a coin like this and it makes me want to bathe in hand sanitizer.

PCGS population of 600 in all grades, half F12 and lower, a lot of MS, but not that many in the higher grade circ range. EF is a conditional rarity for this coin, so maybe that justified slabbing.
