There is a seller on ebay that was selling lots of the mini-puck loonies except for the Oilers version like for 9.95 or so now he has raised the price, looks like they sell a lot of Canada Post unsold inventory. I am sure these are NHL licensed products, if at the time they were at each Canadian NHL venues, they would have sold out most of the mintage, it was a 20.00 item, you are correct the NHL stores charge 25 bucks for a plastic mini-stick, one can only assume these keychains would sell easily in these stores. The RCM is just not transparent with easy simple questions regarding this era of coin's mintage, not sure why thou.

The last few Edmonton min-pucks goes for around 200.00 so if there was lots out there it would be hitting the marketplace

The last one sold on ebay went for $49 and there is currently a buy now on ebay for 47.95. I bought one for $14.15 not long ago from CC&C. Sorry but if they were rare, Bromberg would be aware and he would not be selling them at a discount.

I tried to point out previously that the whole unsubstantiated melted in plastic story is likely fiction. Not only does it say no dealers sold the mask coins when they ALL did, it references a US shopping channel. As John said, it's possible that the a US company decided to make and sell a commemorative item involving the 6 Canadian NHL teams, but is that really probable?

Bromberg sells on The Shopping Channel (Canadian and owned by Rogers) not the American, Home Shopping Network. He might have some indirect information but he would not likely have been involved in something that probably never happened.
