Mexican medals have long been ignored. Maybe this post will spark a collecting interest in some of you.

References to Grove are to Frank W. Grove's Medals of Mexico Volume II 1821-1971. (c)1972. ISBN 0-88242-005-4.

Interesting design. looks like the 7th congress of panamerican iron rails. I'm guessing you didn't attend, but did you pick this up for the railroad theme or because it was a Mexican medal?

I love the eagle used on the first medal.

As a little kid it was the eagles of Mexico that drew part of my interest in that direction. At 6 I collected US eagles but by 8 I realized the Mexican eagles were cheaper and there was a myriad of types compared to US.

I noticed you where going in chronological order at first but skipped '53. Do you not have one for that year?
May I ask why you got into medals or Mexico?I have not done much with medals (just coins and tokens) and am interested in why those two themes together.
