Today's released weekly silver futures report:

Swap dealer/Banks
LONG SHORT
25,391 51,341

That is NET SHORT of 25,950 contracts! considering each contract has 5,000 oz and roughly US$15 per oz ... about 1.95 Billion dollar net short position.

Physical?... Heck to the NO! Not yet anyway. Give me a huge quick spike over $20 and I might consider it. A slow crawl to over $20 I might wait longer and play it by ear. All depends on on how it unfolds though if / when it happens. Timing is key and I see the runners warming up waiting for the call to hit the field

In the fall of 2014 I sold royalty trusts heavily to settle an estate. I had no idea what would happen to oil and gas prices over the following year. But I learned what it feels like to sell on the crest. And an old lesson - high yield will not save a stock's value in a downturn - was reinforced.

Gold and silver are at cyclic highs. Many factors can change this in either direction. But the current prices are what they are. If you need cash it's a good time to sell, and kick yourself if they go higher. If you like to gamble it's a good time to short, and kick yourself if you get squeezed.

At least metals have none of the yield (cap gains and dividends) temptations that equities have.

That's quite a short bet difference. Gambling on silver is always easiest when the prices are doing SOMETHING, either up or down. Sitting forever in a 50 cent range does nothing for buying or selling.
