what size is this mint mark? I think it large so I need so extra eye to make sure.
there 3 small medium & large what one do you think it is

Looks normal to me. I don't know of any Small, medium, or large MM in that , or any other year, except the 1945 "micro S". But, I don't collect other than cent varieties, so don't quote me.

CPG show 3 sizes S M L. plus it don't look like the CPG pictures

AMAC44, Thanks to you I leanrned something new today. This day has not been lost! I was not aware of three sizes of MM, only the "micro S" used on the dime.

Your 1952-D quarter has a type 1 obverse. (thick middle cross bar of LIBERTY, type 2 has thin middle cross bar) The D mint mark appears to be a medium to me. The small D has thin pointy serifs, the medium has a large rounded serif at the top and a small serif at the bottom, and the large D has large rounded serifs top and bottom. I t is hard to tell exactly because the mint mark has some damage.
